Silent Hill f, the next entry in Konami’s legendary horror franchise, finally reemerged during the June 2025 PlayStation State of Play with a brand-new trailer and a confirmed release date: September 25, 2025. A Closer Look at the Monsters—and Combat

The central figure, dressed in a dark school uniform, is the most prominent, its face disfigured and its limbs appearing to be bound with rope. The other two Ayakakashi are further back in the fog, less distinct but similarly eerie. The ground is covered in shallow water and sparse vegetation, adding to the desolate and foreboding atmosphere.

The new footage gave us a quick but unsettling peek at what’s coming: twisted, doll-like creatures with uncanny forms that reflect a very different kind of horror design. According to producer Motoi Okamoto, Silent Hill f will be more action-oriented than previous entries, especially when compared to the slower pace of the Silent Hill 2 remake. Expect a heavier focus on melee combat, while still keeping the tension and dread the series is known for.

There are also puzzle sections that shift into first-person, which long-time fans may recognize—but this time, they might play a larger role in the overall experience.

Konami has brought together an impressive creative team. The story is penned by Ryukishi07, the mind behind cult horror series like Higurashi and Umineko, so fans can expect a dark, twisted tale full of mystery and psychological terror.

Creature designs are handled by kera, known for their haunting and surreal art style, while the game’s soundscape is in expert hands: Akira Yamaoka, the iconic composer from past Silent Hill titles, returns alongside composer Kensuke Inage.
